Resolved Default value for drop down field - pre-selected

Hi

I have a dropdown (selectlist) on registration with currently only one option to select. I would like this to be pre-selected on registration (later I will add more options) under the tab "options select field" there is an option to put a default value for the field
my option at the moment is "VIC|Victora"

What do I need to put in the default value field ? VIC, Victoria or VIC|Victoria or the ID from the database ? I can get thi to work that in the frontend the Victoria is already selected for the user.

Any help appreciated

correct value is VIC (this is the value of the option).

is already selected for the user.
Default value works only in registration form, if a user is already registered then Default value will not be applied.
