The notifications work well, but when you click on them they send you to that user's page instead of to the actual item they are notifying you about.

This depends on what is notified. if system notify "Like your status" or "Commented your status", the system will be redirect on your page. Maybe in notification we can add the text of status and comment. However we appreciate the suggestion, and in the future we will improve the product.
