I have spent roughly the last six hours searching through the forums and documentation.

I finally got the registration form to properly work with an automatic user category assignment added on.

My problem now is the "User Profile." The profile is nothing like what is created. There is a "User Profile" module with predefined, non-editable, fields. If I turn it off I don't have a user profile and get a 404 Error. If I turn it on I don't have any custom fields nor is there anyway of editing those fields.

Where do I go, or what do I do, to get the custom profile layout that I created?

I'm using Joomla 3.x with Expose Template from ThemeXpert, running on a Linux System with Apache Server and PHP Version 5.4.

I have made the site available for testing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Easy Profile extends Joomla user management and works with other users plugin.

You have enabled "User - Profile" plugin. this plugin is included in Joomla installation (disabled by default), it add the tab User Profile in Joomla Registration (see screnshots).

I did enable the "User-Profile" but none of the additional fields I added to the profile show up.

The "User-Profile" Module has pre-formated areas that I can only hide, show, require, etc. It is not showing the additional fields I would like it to have. In other words it is not interacting with EasyProfile.

If I turn off the "User-Profile" Module I get the 404 Error mentioned earlier.

Hi,
I have disabled Joomla User - Profile Plugin and now "User Profile" tab is gone.

So, I have not found any problem.

In registration page, you have the same fields that you have set in Easy Profile. The "Years Studying" field is missed because this field is not set to available for registration (see screenshot).

So if I want to have an "Edit Profile" I would create a menu link to "Register" and not "User Profile?"

No,
there is a misunderstanding.

I have disabled User Profile Plugin(not menu item id) from Administration->Extensions->Plugin Manager

Hi,
I am trying to get a profile that the user can edit. It would have the basic information such as name
Default configuration split name in firstname and lastname; if you want only name you can set this in Administration->Components->Easy Profile->Options and set "name style" parameter on "Only Name"

Menu items
Easy Profile extend Joomla User managment, so:
- to register page the menu type is : Users Manager->Registration form
- to edit user page is: Users Manager->Edit User Profile
- to display our profile you can choose Users Profile->User Profile or Easy Profile->User Profile (recommended)

I dont have a user profile that page that is interacting with Easy Profile. I have the default Joomla profile which is not updating, and there isn't an Easy Profile "User Profile" file in the program (or I have not found it).

I got it. Not sue why it was not working. Thank you for your help.

I guess that what I kept looking for was "edit profile" being separate from 'profile' like what we see with the default Joomla system.

I loaded the link and originally got a 404 error. Then I did a "new menu item" and did the selection again. The new link brought up the profile I was seeking.

So I got the solution. With some template systems you can't just replace the link itself. You have to go in and recreate the link. Doesn't really make sense, but that seems to work in some cases.

Thank you for your patience. I really appreciate it.
