When a user registers for an account they enter their user name we suggest something like 'firstname-lastname'
However, when they come to edit their profile (user name let's say it is 'john-smith' ) Easy Profile responds with error field must be lower case. I can see how this is because the format options state only lowercase See screen shots.
I would like the format to be lower case but allow characters like '-' or '_' . Can I do this with custom format?
I can't see the Easy Profile documentation how to do this??
Any help would be appreciated

Hi,
you can use "Custom Format" and add a syntax like this:
[a-z\-_]+
It mean:
a-z Letters lowercase
\- Char "-" (the slash is an escape because this is a regex core char)
_ Char "_"

That works ....Thanks
If I wanted to add another character such as '@' can I add that after the back slash? Or is it not as simple as that?
Kind regards
David

You can add "@" after "_" char (without slash).
The only char that require slash is "-" because it is used as operator in regex expressions.
