Hi,

With Easy Profile I created a menu item on which I show a search form. I have a few text fields which I want to be searchable. That works fine, but I think the form looks a bit confusing now for the end user, as for each profile field I have a specific form input field.

Would it be possible to create a combined text search field so users can input their search phrase without bothering in which field it may occur? Just like they are used to do on Google.

I can imagine that this would involve some kind of (template) override. If sou, could you please advise me on where to start? I don't mind if this should be in the component or in the module.

Kind regards, Frits

Hi,

Well, in the meantime we've been discussing this in the project group and we've decided indeed that we should not try to cram so many different types of functionality into one single extension. Better have it working perfectly for the type of functionality that it is intended for - and that's the main objective of our project.

After that we will see if we really need to expand that into other territories. If so - which some of us really have our doubts about - then we'll have a next round in developing the site and then we'll see how to solve that.

As I said before, I am really impressed with what Easy Profile CAN do and the way things are implemented. Also I think your support is fine. So I'm confident we will finish this round successfully.

Thanks for your help and please keep up the good work. I'll write a review in the JED - that is, after we've finished this round and I will do my best not forget to write it.

Kind regards, Frits

Hi,
sorry for late reply.

I'm sorry but this is not possible with a simple was. Easy Profile is mainly a profiler extensions, so directory things (like advanced search options) are not very powerful.
