Hello,

When required fields are missing, an error is displayed at the top of the Registration page however once the values have been corrected the error does not disappear. We need to manually close the error message during Registration. It is ok during Edit Profile, the problem is specifically during Registration.

Have you come across this before?

Thanks, Alexandra

It feels as though submitting, error messages and moving between tabs work separately instead of working
This is normal Joomla behavior, so, we does not think to make some changes to the code.

Anyway if you need to validate form when you change tab then you can try to add following javascript code to your template:
jQuery(document).ready(function(){jQuery('#member-profile #jsn-profile-tabs a').click(function(){document.formvalidator.isValid('#member-profile');})});

Hi,
Easy Profile extends Joomla user management (not replace), so this is a Joomla behavior. Joomla Messages during registration will be updated when you submit the form.

OK the strange thing is that the Error stays at the top of the page when you move on to different tabs and it is very confusing to see this error message because normally when you correct a field the error should disappear. No one normally thinks to close an error message manually so then it gets confusing to know which is a real error remaining and an old error that is no longer relevant.

Hi,
After testing further, if there is a new error and the previous error was corrected the message is refreshed and only the real error remains. However after correcting the real error this message still remains until you submit the form.
The only way to remove the last message is by manually closing the box and users will have problems with this. I think that we will have many support calls about this and so we were wondering if we could instead of a pop up message at the top of the screen, could there just be some text next to the field that has the error so that the user corrects this and the field is refreshed.
Thank you for your help with this.
I have attached a picture of the error showing before I submit and all the fields are correct. We are concerned that a user will call us saying that they cannot create their registration because they will not try to submit if there is an error and they will not realize that they can close the error or ignore it.

Hi,
if you want to add validation for any single step you can enable option "Yes (Step by Step validation during registration)" in Components->Easy Profile->Options->Layout Settings->View form in tabs (see screenshot). I think this will solve your problem.

Hi,
Yes we have the setting step by step validation. In fact yes if you submit the tab, the error disappears. The only thing is that if there is the error, you can move to other tabs without submitting even though there is still an error.
It feels as though submitting, error messages and moving between tabs work separately instead of working together if you see what I mean.
Thanks for your advice,
Alexandra
