hello

I originally use a search module in my template module position, but it can not be used for searching the user list, only can search the article, category, author..., please see the screenshot1.png.

so I want to use the easy profile search module for people to search the fields of firstname, company and products in user list.

when I put the easy profile search module in my template module position, the module style is not what I want.

I want the search module style can be the same as the original search module, just one row with a field for typing keywords and a search button beside it, and people can select the fields (firstname, company and products) to search. please see the screenshot3.png (a mockup).

is it possible to do this ?

if could, please show me how.

thank you very much.

Hi,
this is not possible natively, you need to develop a module to do this.

I'm sorry but we does not support custom development.

ok, I know, thank you.

if can not do such thing, how to customize the search module in one row ? please see the screenshot I mockup :
search-module.png and search-module-in-menu.png.

how to customize the style to achieve the look I want ?

I want the search module top can be one row, and another search module in menu item can be one row too, so that the module height can be reduced to save the space.

please show me how, thank you very much.

You can do this via CSS.

I want the search module top can be one row, and another search module in menu item can be one row too, so that the module height can be reduced to save the space.
Now your search form is not a module, so it will be rendered into component block. You can disable search feature on User List menu item to not show the form and create a module of type "Easy Profile - Search" with preferred layout position.

I put the search module on my website headerbar module position, if I want it to be the style I mockup, what css attribute can I edit to make it my desired look ?

and if I want to enable the User List menu item search block, how to edit the block css to be the style I mockup ?

thank you.

Hi,
try something like this:

.jsn_search_module > .btn,.jsn_search_module .control-group, .jsn_search_module .controls,.jsn_search_module .control-label,
.jsn_search > .btn,.jsn_search .control-group, .jsn_search .controls,.jsn_search .control-label {display:inline-block !important;width:auto !important;margin:0 !important;float:none;}
.jsn_search_module{width:600px;float:right !important;text-align:right;padding-top:40px}
.jsn_search_module input{width:90px !important;}

see result in screenshot

ok, I know.

and I find another question, about the search module, when I type any keyword in the field, there is no result. even I type the whole words including the member company name or product. why ?

when I first put the module then I test the search function, it works well, I can find the members information according to the keyword I type.

but now whenever I type any keywords, it display no results...

please help me to find out what is wrong, thank you.

ok, I find out what the problem is, and I solve it. thank you.

in order to make one field search module but needs filter, I create a field called "search index", and it is a textarea for input company name and products, so I just have one field search module but I can search the keyword for company and product, I assumed...

but when I type the keyword, it display no result. and even I use the original three fields to search , there is no result still..

so I remove the search index field, and the search function is ok.

I do not knwo why.

Hi,
to debug this we need to see your site with this field enabled.

ok, I publish the search field again.

but the search module is still three fields of company, product,and divisision number for my client to review.

I put the search field in the menu item member list. so you can try and see what is wrong.

thank you.

Hi,
I think the problem is in alias of field "search", name "search" is also a hidden field in the form that indicates that post data are related to a search, this create some conflict. try to recreate this field with another alias.

In the next release we will add "search" alias as reserved word, so not assignable as alias of fields.
