hi there

ive checked your forum and ive seen the august 2015 post about this but im desperately hoping youve updated your import plugin to allow data to be imported to custom fields - this is essential for us and yes we're about to purchase your biggest subscription but this will be a hurdle for us - we have 1300 members all with address info that needs importing

please can you help asap? if there is a small charge for you to amend your plugin Im sure we can cover it and you will no doubt make many of your users including very happy.....

our import plugin already allow to import Easy Profile custom fields. you can try with free version ;)

HI,
please follow example for your CSV file.
- you need to use alias of fields in first row (i.e. adrress-line-1 is wrong, char - is not permitted in alias)
try to check
- field separator is ";"
- row separator is end of line

Actually the error was because i was using Mac csv not windows csv and so once i resaved the format it imported with success - well i thought with success because it said Notice 1 user imported however when i go and look at the user info there is no extra data added eg address date of birth etc.

please can you help?

Hi,
found the problem, many users already exists before you install Easy Profile, so there is no association between Joomla User table and Easy Profile Custom Fields table.

To add new users Easy Profile Import plugin works, but when you try to update already existing users then the plugin not work.

To fix this you need to sync Users (I already do it) by using a tool in Easy Profile component (see screenshot). Now Import Plugin update also existing users ;)

NOTE: in your CSV file I see column "address_line_4" instead "address_line_3", this not make error because field (and column in DB) for address_line_4 exists, Now address_line_4 field in in the Trash.

ok so ive finally gotten around to importing the full users list - it now throws up an error
Missing some required fields: Email, Name or Firstname
i have username and email and firstname but not name as it isnt needed

please can you help - my client is coming for a meeting tomorrow and I need to have this import done so I can create the maps of the users.

Hi,
you need to use as separator for field the character ";" instead ",", for example your first line is:
username,email,title,firstname,lastname,address_line_1.....

correct is something like this:
username;email;title;firstname;lastname;address_line_1.....

thanks - i did find and replace in textedit and i now get 10 errors - it says 1271 user imported

maybe you have some user info with ";" char, for example if you had address like "Street 126, Washington", then you have converted this like "Street 126; Washington", so the plugin see 2 columns

Hi,
Google map field create in DB 3 columns: FIELDALIAS, FIELDALIAS_lat, FIELDALIAS_lng. You need to populate all these fields to see users on the map.

You can fill "SQL Custom Where" parameter in module options, see here how it works: http://docs.easy-profile.com/article/sql-custom-where

This special parameter is available in Users List menu items, Users List module and Users Map module.

In your case you can use this value:
group_id IN ( HEREGROUPID )

You need to create it.

Yes but you need to import also latitude and longitude, otherwise users will not show on map module.

When user already exists all imported data will be overwritten. If you import only some field then others fields will not be modified when user already exists.
what is the fieldalias please?
See screenshot, for example if your Google Map field have alias "gaddress" then you need to import these columns "gaddress", "gaddress_lat", "gaddress_lng". gaddress_lat is latitude, gaddress_lng is longitude.
also where do i download the google maps module please?
User Map Module is already included in Easy Profile Pro package, you can manage this as all Joomla Modules

You can see ID of usergroups from Administration->Users->Groups, in usergroups table there is a column ID

You need to create 2 modules, one for each your usergroup.

in map module 1, I assumed group1 have id equal to 10

it would be lovely if we could manually add the long and lat and text address field but it doesnt seem to work - if you go to users and into a user record and type the address in the google address field (see screenshot) and then hit enter it removes the address.

whereas if i click the location green box it shows my home here now

Yes, but I think you need also to recreate also Google Map field, if you delete lat and lng field then I think our system will delete also Google Map service columns on DB.

Sorry this is not possible, you can do this by adding these value directly on DB or by using import plugin.

1) Import plugin does not add usergroups, it only import custom values.

2) You need also to add "firstname", this is always required because it builds the Joomla name

3) You need to import also latitude and longitude, if you have a gmap field called address, then you need to import: address,address_lat,address_lng

4) You need to set access in plugin parameters from Extensions->Plugin Manager

Hi,
1) if your users have all same usergroup, so you can simply order by registered date and add to usergroup with batch process from Users->manage, or you can set in Users->manage->options (button)->Usergroup for new users (parameter) your usergroup, when you will do import then users will be automatically adds to this usergroup.

2) Yes Mandatory are firstname and email, instead "firstname" you can use "name". Joomla require
username - if missing will be generated from name
name - this is required
password - if missing will be generated
email - this is required

4) I have just tried and seems to works, anyway we will investigate about this, is possible that you have confused with Plugin Access Level?
