sorry I don't know, but I seen that many customers works with Easy Profile and Improved ajax register and login. Try to ask this question at Improved ajax register and login support, maybe there is some specific configuration.

Basically Easy Profile extends Joomla user management(not replace), so to use Easy Profile you should use Joomla registration.
