Hi,

I succesfully created a template override where I display different user profile fields. One of them is a textfield and I would like to know how to limit the display of this text to 250 characters. I want the limitation only in the template file, the profile should show the complete text.
The code I use in my template is this:

<?php echo $user->getField('aboutme'); ?>

How can I achieve this?

Thanks!

Hi,
you can use something like this:
<?php
$aboutme = $user->getField( 'aboutme' ) ;
if ( strlen( $aboutme ) > 250 ) $aboutme = substr( $aboutme , 0 , 249 ) . '...' ;
echo $aboutme ;
?>
