Resolved Need to import user data based on username - NOT email address...

Hi, I need to import extra fields for hundreds of users based on their username. I already have email registered for all memebers, and I do not want to include this field at all. I tried importing without email but got error message "Missing some required fields: Email, Name or Firstname". The user database is based on numerical usernames like 88888, 77777 and so on. This is the only field I want / need to refer to as all data in my .csv is new data. No old data is going to be changed.

If you can not modify the file, can you point me to the file and give a brief description on what I would have to modify in the .php file?

Hi,

try this:

on file /plugins/jsn/userimport/userimport.php
- remove or comment from line 145 to line 149 (this is email check column)
- replace line 40 from

$query->select('id')->from('#__users')->where($db->quoteName('email').' = '.$db->quote($importUser['email']));

$query->select('id')->from('#__users')->where($db->quoteName('username').' = '.$db->quote($importUser['username']));

IMPORTANT: Try to 1 user, before mass import, we have not tested this.
