Hi,

I still have a problem on my installation in website thesynapse.info. In the admin section of easy-profile I get this message:
Error

You have one or more menu item of type "Users » Registration Form" accessible also from registered users, registered users not need to see this menu item. You should set access only for "Guest" to avoid conflicts.

Also when a new user logs in through facebook, the profile page comes up and user is prompted to complete the required fields. However, user cannot proceed as he gets the following message and will think that he is stuck but he actually would be logged in and registered. Here is the message:
Error

You have one or more menu item of type "Users » Registration Form" accessible also from registered users, registered users not need to see this menu item. You should set access only for "Guest" to avoid conflicts.

Your early assistance is needed as new users are being misguided and think they are not registered.

Thanks a million.

Hi,
I still have a problem on my installation in website thesynapse.info. In the admin section of easy-profile I get this message:
Please solve this problem, you need to search in your menu manager all menu items of type Users->Registration form, and set "Access" to guest. No make a sense that Registration menu item is available for already registered members.

Also when a new user logs in through facebook, the profile page comes up and user is prompted to complete the required fields. However, user cannot proceed as he gets the following message and will think that he is stuck but he actually would be logged in and registered. Here is the message:
Are you sure that is message is this? because if yes this seems a cache/session problem, This message is only triggered into backend, there is not any code that show this message in frontend. Try to restart your browser.

Hi,

First problem fixed, thanks so much.

Second problem is as you advised because of caching. However, many users don't know about caching, how can I go about it?

Thanks
Carmen

Hi,
there is a misunderstanding, you wrote that in frontend you get message "You have one or more menu item of type "Users » Registration Form" accessible also...", so I supposed some cache problem, because this message is available only on backend.

Correct message is "The email address entered is already in use...", so the cause not seems caching.

Can you please provide me your "Site Details" to check this? you can use the form below the reply in "Site Details" tab.

Hi,
ok found the problem, when you go to edit profile page you will go to this url /login/my-profile/profile?layout=edit

So it inherits Itemid of Registration form menu item (with alias my-profile)

This happen because you have a ACL error, from Joomla 3 not registered users should have a specific permission, so to fix follow these steps:
- Go to Users->Groups
- Create a Usergroup called "Guest" with "Public" as parent group
- Go to Users->Manage->Options
- In parameter "Guest User Group" set "Guest" (the new usergroup just created)
- Go to Users->Access Levels
- Open "Guest" and set only "Guest" usergroup (the new usergroup just created)

This is the correct Joomla ACL for Guest users, with this you can create modules only for Guest users for example.

This Bad ACL Configuration normally comes in 2 cases:
- Manual deleting
- Incorrect upgrade from Jooma 2.5
