I don't use socialconnect and I have disabled the plugin, but the fields still show on the user profile. Is there a way to remove them?

this is possible only with CSS, customers never request something like this, normally backend is used only for services purpose.
Anyway, if possible, we always try to met our customers requirements so I can confirm you that in next release these fields will be hidden if not activated. A small path is attached to this post, you can replace file at /administrator/components/com_jsn/helpers/fields/core.php with attached file
