Hi,

What file can I remove the code for the Login menu on the Social network menu bar? I am using another component for login and I do not want to show the option to log in next to the Search bar when the user is not logged in. I only want it to show when the user is already logged in.

Hi,
Re-install issue
pkg_social contains nothing, it will install "Easy Profile - Social Network" as plugin and "Socialnetwork View" as file, so if you want to uninstall Social Plugin you can remove these extensions (see screenshot).
in theory you should not see the package between installations, we will solve this issue in next release.

Blank Page
I think that when you have modified the file you've made some error. maybe you have removed "endif", so you have a php error and blank page.
I have follow the steps and works.
Anyway, overrides are stored into /plugins/jsn/socialnetwork/app/View/Themed/Blue/
If you create a file with error you can remove/edit this via FTP.

Now I have create a correct override to hide login button (see screenshot)

Hi,
sorry for late reply, it's a weekend for us.

this code is into /plugins/jsn/socialnetwork/app/View/Elements/userbox.ctp from line 67 to line 84

Follow the steps to change this:
- Go to admin panel (of social network plugin)
- Go to "Themes Manager"
- Go to "Social Network" under Base Theme
- On left menu go to Elements->userbox.ctp
- Go to "Copy" button (on top of code), and copy this file into Blue Theme
- Return to "Themes Manager"
- Go to "Blue Theme"
- On left menu you will find the file Elements->userbox.ctp
- Edit this file

NOTE: you must copy the various file into Blue Theme, because when you update Social Network Plugin the file will be not overwrite.

Hi,

Thanks for the clear instructions - unfortunately a straightforward change has created a lot of problems now. I copied userbox, ctp into the Blue Theme but for some reason 2 files of the same filename userbox.ctp was displayed. I updated the code but on refresh of page, the screen went blank (white). As I have no way of reverting the code, I unistalled Easy Profile and Social Network plugin. I noticed that pkg_jsnsocial does not uninstall - error Package Uninstall: Missing manifest file. I uninstalled and installed a few times but the Social Network links are mostly broken. It displays the Home page on a lightbox when I click on User settings and most other link I click displays the People page.

Kindly assist with:
1. Re-install issue. I uninstalled all the jsn compoment, plugin, module, I deleted jsn files. I deleted all the tables. I then re-installed, should be a fresh Easy Profile & Social network installed,

2. Is there any way of updating the code from my own backend control panel? The process of copying a file into the Blue theme, etc. makes it complicated and risky (because once it is saved there is no easy way of restoring the code/file and in this case, I cannot even re-install the whole thing). If the file update was done on my control panel, I could undo with one click or restore a backup file.

Site details provided.

Thank you.

Hi,

I worked out the re-install issue. When Social Network is uninstalled and re-installed, displays the menu items from the previous installation and displays the broken pages. When I checked Menu Manager, the menu is actually disabled after re-installation (but for some reason still displays the page). I just had to enable the relevant menu items.

I would appreciate still your direction on #2.
