Social Network - what is the difference between Blogs and Topics?

Where is Search in this forum so that we can find out if our questions have already been answered?

the differences are few, but there are, for example:
- in Topics you can upload attachments in Blogs only images
- Topics are identified by user avatar in the list, Blogs with intro image
- In blog uploaded images will be put in the content
- Some string difference

What is the useful purpose for the user to have both Topics and Blogs?
It seems like it might be confusing to users (authors and viewers) about which to use.

Is it possible to hide the Topics link?

Is it possible to hide the Topics link?
Of course:
- Go into Admin Panel, you can see how to from docs at http://docs.easy-profile.com/index.php/article/social-network-configuration
- Go to Plugins Manager and disable it (see screenshot)
